I wasn't able to finish this last month and upload pictures, but now I'm finally done!
This is a artifact card from Magic the Gathering.... Its funny that I was commissioned to make this weapon because about 2 years ago, I was really wanting to work for Hasbro (who owns MTG) and do illustrations for them. I guess good things come to those how wait haha.
Anyway, this project was a bit more difficult than I originally thought because I wanted to try out some new tools; mainly my plunge router. Drawing with it was... a new experience to say the least, but its definitely a tool I'll be using in the future.
I also love getting commission where theres a size restriction for bigger weapons. Figuring out the mechanics to making these weapons work is super fun. This one breaks down into 3 pieces, cutting shipping prices by a lot.

Pretty sexy if I do say so myself |
I looked at a couple different pictures and ended up blending a couple together. It has a whit to black gradient, but is also depicted gold.... so a bit in between looked good |
